Functional Safety Events

Safety Advisor Oy and RISKNOWLOGY have been organising together Functional Safety Certification Courses for safety professionals to achieve personal Certification (TÜV). The Lecturer Dr. Michel Houtermans (Ph.D in safety and risk management) has a long carreer in the frontline of the Functional Safety Knowledge. The very popular courses has gathered since Sepember 2010 more than 60 professionals (4 courses in Finlad only) to review and measure their Functional Safety Knowledge.

The course schedule is four days from Tuesday to Friday. Friday is reserved for the exam. In order to attend the course it is expected that the attendee has good knowledge and experience of safety critical systems. The course is suitable for Functional Safety Professionals in industry, nuclear and railways. The course and the exam is in english language.

Prior to the course we have organised a separate one day event "Introduction to Functional Safety and SIL" to promote the importance and methods of Functional Safety. You may join both or only one event.

2012 FSCC EVENTS - HELSINKI 26.3 and 27.-30.3.2012

IEC61508 - Functional Safety for Safety Related System Professionals - 2012
The Introduction to Functional Safety And SIL will be in 26.3.2012 and the Functional Safety Certification Course will be held in 27.-30.3.2012.

Both events will be in Petrasol, Business Center Ruoholahti, Itämerenkatu 5, Helsinki.The easiest way is to use metro – 3 minutes from the Helsinki Central railway Station to Ruoholahti. And then 2 minutes walk. There is also a parking house next to the Petrasol Business Center.

The separate prices for the Introduction and Certifications courses are respectively 350 € and 2100 €. The combined price for participating the both courses is 2300 €.

FSCC history in Finland

IEC61508 - Functional Safety 9/2011
The Functional Safety Certification Course held in Helsinki in September collected 10 safety professional to share experiences and update their knowledge on the essential IEC61508 safety standard. The participants represented various sectors of functional safety.

IEC61508 & IEC61511 - Safety Instrumented Systems 3/2011
The Helsinki course 15.-18. March 2011 was held together with the Nuclear Authority of Finland (STUK). The course collected 19 Functional Safety Professionals. The vast majority of the growd was from the nuclear industry. Some of the participants were from industry and railways.

IEC61508 - Functional Safety 12/2010
The course held in Mikkeli 7.-10.12.2010 collected 16 participants. The majority in this course represented the railway sector with the flavour of some industry safety professionals.

IEC61508 & IEC61511 - Safety Instrumented Systems - 9/2010
Dr. Michel Houtermans, RISKNOWLOGY.

The first FSCC course since 2007 was held 14.-17.9.2011 in Tampere. The number of attendeeds was 15. Most of the participants represented the automation industry and railway safety.
