Functional Safety Events

Safety Advisor Oy and RISKNOWLOGY have been organising together Functional Safety Certification Courses for safety professionals to achieve personal Certification (TÜV). The Lecturer Dr. Michel Houtermans(Ph.D in safety and risk management) has a long carreer in the frontline of the Functional Safety Knowledge. The recognized courses have gathered since September 2010 nearly 200 professionals to review and set measures to their Functional Safety Knowledge.

The course schedule is four days from Monday to Friday. Friday is reserved for the exam. In order to attend the course it is expected that the attendee has good knowledge and experience of safety critical systems. The course is suitable for Functional Safety Professionals in industry, nuclear and railways. The course and the exam is in English language.

IEC 61508/IEC 61511 - Functional Safety for Safety Related System Professionals

The Functional Safety Certification Course will be held in 21.-25.5.2018.

The event will be at Tapahtumatalo Bank, Unioninkatu 20, 00130 HELSINKI. The easiest way to find your way is to navigate to the Havis Amanda. The venue is just few steps south along the Unioninkatu.

The maximum amount of attendees is around 25 persons as we want to keep the discussions active. Minimum is 10 attendees. The price for the Certification course is 2500 € (VAT 0%). The price for taking only the re-exam is 500 € (VAT 0%).

FSCC history in Finland

IEC61508 - Functional Safety 5/2017
One day Prime Event in Helsinki. Speakers Dr. Michel Houtermans and Mr. Didier Turchinovic presented Functional Safety topics to a group of safety professionals.
Two parallel FSCC courses at the same time in Mikkeli and Helsinki with total over 20 Functional Safety Professionals. It's good to see that the issue of reaching for functional safety in various industries is a strong movement!

IEC61508 - Functional Safety 5/2016
Again over 20 Functional Safety Professionals! The reputation of the FSCC Finland seems to be establishing. A wide variety of Functional Safety Professionalism was present.

IEC61508 - Functional Safety 9/2011
The Functional Safety Certification Course held in Helsinki in September collected 10 safety professional to share experiences and update their knowledge on the essential IEC61508 safety standard. The participants represented various sectors of functional safety.

IEC61508 & IEC61511 - Safety Instrumented Systems 3/2011
The Helsinki course 15.-18. March 2011 was held together with the Nuclear Authority of Finland (STUK). The course collected 19 Functional Safety Professionals. The vast majority of the growd was from the nuclear industry. Some of the participants were from industry and railways.

IEC61508 - Functional Safety 12/2010
The course held in Mikkeli 7.-10.12.2010 collected 16 participants. The majority in this course represented the railway sector with the flavour of some industry safety professionals.

IEC61508 & IEC61511 - Safety Instrumented Systems - 9/2010

The first FSCC course since 2007 was held 14.-17.9.2011 in Tampere. The number of attendeeds was 15. Most of the participants represented the automation industry and railway safety.
